A marble altar was found when the demolition of the grotto was being done. It was hidden for 70 years. After finding the altar we informed Monsignor Kevin Nelan.

He asked us if it could be dissembled this altar and bring it to the basement for the creation of the new Mary of the help of the Christian chapel at Immaculate conception church.

This altar was consecrated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Vicar of south manhattan, Msgr. Kevin Nelan.
